Job Description

World Expeditions and Adventure Travel West are seeking seasoned, German-speaking tour guides to lead 1-2 week small-group hiking and sightseeing tours designed for European professionals across the breathtaking landscapes of the American West, Rocky Mountains, and Hawaii.

Our tours are dedicated to sustainable travel practices, incorporating Leave No Trace principles throughout every adventure. Join us for our exciting 2024 tour season (starting in May/June) as a German-speaking tour guide. In this role, you'll drive, guide, manage group dynamics, and coordinate trip logistics, ensuring every guest enjoys an unforgettable, educational, and safe journey.

Requirements

What we're looking for:

  • Full availability in June 2024
  • Multi-lingual driver-guides fluent in English & German
  • Authorization to work in the USA (REQUIRED)
  • CPR and First Aid certifications, or willingness to obtain them
  • Food Handling license, or willingness to obtain
  • Enthusiastic, passionate outdoors enthusiasts with knowledge about the American West/Rockies/Hawaii
  • Outdoor leadership experience
  • Experience driving a 15-passenger van and pulling a trailer (or similar vehicle) - CDL only required if a California resident; US Driver’s License REQUIRED
  • Clean motor vehicle record
  • Physically fit and able to lead easy to strenuous hikes
  • Ability to commit to at least two tours, back-to-back preferred
