Overview: One of Insight Global's higher education clients is seeking a S enior Release & Deployment Manager to lead and mature its release management processes as the organization scales its engineering and product teams. This role will be essential to evolving how the client coordinates, executes, and communicates software releases across internal teams, helping driving best practices in technical deployment and cross-functional alignment. This individual will partner closely with engineering, product, and go-to-market teams to improve deployment cadence, strengthen tooling strategy, and develop clear release communication workflows. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in release management, a collaborative leadership style, and a desire to help build scalable processes in a fast-growing EdTech environment. This position can sit in Salt Lake City, UT or Nashville, TN.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Lead and evolve the end-to-end release strategy, including planning, execution, and process refinement for weekly (and eventually more frequent) deployments.
• Implement best practices for CI/CD and rollback processes while introducing efficient, scalable tooling for release tracking and deployment.
• Partner with engineers to support technical releases via GitHub and feature flagging tools such as Statsig.
• Collaborate with Product, Sales, and Customer Success to ensure go-to-market teams are properly trained and prepared for upcoming launches and product changes.
• Coordinate cross-functional release communication and readiness efforts, including documentation, internal enablement, and training alignment.
• Support the team’s transition toward continuous deployment by mapping out a process roadmap and identifying opportunities for gradual implementation.

Must-haves:

• 5+ years of release management or product operations experience in a SaaS, EdTech, or enterprise-level software environment.
• Proven ability to fully design and implement release processes, including experience with technical tools like GitHub and feature flag platforms (e.g., Statsig).
• Strong understanding of Agile workflows and collaborative team environments.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional release plans and managing stakeholder communication (internal enablement, documentation, etc.).
• Demonstrated success introducing structure into growing teams.
• Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented approach to leadership.

Plusses:

• Certifications in Agile Release Management or related disciplines.
• Experience with Shortcut (formerly Clubhouse) or similar engineering management tools.
• Familiarity with experimentation frameworks and post-launch feedback (e.g., CSAT collection, A/B testing).
