Software Engineering Manager (In-Office – Lewisville, TX)

A growing company is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead development efforts from its corporate office in Lewisville, Texas. This is a 100% in-office, hands-on leadership role ideal for a seasoned C# engineer with experience managing small development teams.

About the Role

This role is suited for a highly skilled C# Lead Software Engineer who is ready to step into a broader leadership position. The Software Engineering Manager will oversee the design, development, and maintenance of internal software applications that align with business goals. You will collaborate closely with senior leadership, stakeholders, and other departments to define priorities, shape software strategies, and deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain internal business applications using C#.
• Actively code while leading a small team of software engineers (currently 2 direct reports).
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and implement effective solutions.
• Perform code reviews, unit testing, and debugging to ensure software quality.
• Ensure compatibility with operating systems, browsers, and other platform dependencies.
• Manage internal IT application infrastructure, including third-party platforms (e.g., ERP, CRM, HRIS).
• Maintain and optimize software performance, scalability, and security.
• Develop automation scripts for reporting and data consolidation.
• Lead software project planning and execution using Agile methodologies.
• Participate in UI/UX design for internal tools.
• Work with third-party vendors and assist in budget planning and cost forecasting.
• Ensure all software development aligns with company policies, operational needs, and standards.
• Provide support and training to end-users as needed.
• Report directly to the company’s senior leadership team.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience designing and developing internal business applications with C#.
• 3+ years in a software team lead or managerial role.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and related tools.
• Hands-on development experience with Visual Studio, Git, and Agile workflows.
• Familiarity with web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery) is a plus.
• Experience working with ERP systems and other enterprise applications is helpful.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Occasional travel (<1%) may be required for project oversight.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• This role is based on-site in Lewisville, TX.
• May involve extended hours or weekend work during critical deployments or support needs.
• Primarily a desk-based position involving extended computer use.
