Akkodis is seeking a Research and Development Engineer for a 12 month contract position with a client in Bloomington, IN. The ideal candidate will support a vascular R&D initiative focused on the Prima Certiflow connector. This is a hands-on role with immediate impact and the potential to contribute to a product targeting launch by late 2026 or early 2027.
Salary Range: $65.00/hour to $75.00/hour. The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Research and Development Engineer job responsibilities include:
· Hands-on work including:
• Prototype testing (Instron, torque, leak)
• Data analysis and report writing
• Design control, technical documentation, FMEA, and risk management
Qualifications:
· Software proficiency required: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Minitab
· Creo/drawing experience highly preferred, but could consider others
· Statistical analysis using Minitab
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering
• 3–5 years of experience in the medical device industry
· Contract manufacturers will handle main prototyping
· Temporary in-house prototyping may use 3D printing and off-the-shelf parts
· 3D printing experience not required (internal support available)
