Who are we looking for?

At Sun Recycling, our mission is safety and efficiency . We’re looking for a dependable Waste Operations Attendant to join our team full-time. This role combines tip floor and scale duties—so if you’re someone who likes to stay busy, work outdoors, and be part of a solid team, we look forward to receiving your application.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer Service Experience
• Ability to communicate with customers in Spanish and English
• Attention to detail
• Scale experience (heavily weighted)
• Availability to work some Saturdays
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Technological proficiency
• Ability to demonstrate a safe and healthy sense of urgency

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Waste Industry Experience
• Traffic Control Experience

Responsibilities: 

• Maintaining continuous safety awareness in a safety-sensitive environment
• Operate the scale to promptly and accurately weigh incoming and outgoing loads
• Maintain continuous and effective two-way communications with colleagues
• Record weight data and other info accurately as received via radio
• Keep the tip floor and scale area clean and organized
• Use verbal and non-verbal signals to communicate with customers
• Safely guide trucks on the tip floor and direct traffic flow
• Spot different types of waste and direct customers to the designated area
• Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands: 

Individuals must have the consistent ability to:

• Working outdoors for a significant portion or entire shift
• Stand a significant portion or the entire shift
• Seat a significant portion or the entire shift
• Lift, push, and pull 50-75lbs
• Maintain continuous surrounding awareness
• Communicating with colleagues effectively
• Communicating with customers in the Spanish and English languages
• Use of electronic devices for a significant portion of the workday

About the Spanish Language Requirement: 

As a scale attendant, you are the first interaction with our customers upon arriving at the recycling facility. We pride ourselves on serving and supporting a diverse population of customers. The ability to speak, read, and write Spanish fluently is required for this position. This requirement facilitates effective communication of safety procedures and protocols and supports our distinguished excellence in each customer’s experience with Sun Recycling.

Compensation details: 20-22 Hourly Wage
