Job Overview:

Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to provide medical nutritional therapy & optimal health care. Screens and assigns levels of nutritional risk based on hospital established criteria.

Qualifications:

Required:

• BS, or advanced degree with major studies in Foods and Nutrition or Dietetics
• Flexible with floor assignments, after proper orientation on patient units

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration CDR or eligible to sit for Registered Dietitian Examination

Scheduling Requirements

• Shift: Day
• Part Time: 20 hours/week
• Must be available to work weekends

Essential Functions:

• Develops and implements nutrition care plans for all assigned patients according to a patient s disease state and lifecycle.
• Provides nutrition education to patient and family members.
• Responsible for documentation of patient s progress in the electronic medical record EPIC, according to department policies.
• Continuously evaluates and monitors the effectiveness and outcomes of medical nutritional therapy intervention, according to procedural guidelines for assessment/re-assessment.
• Participates in performance evaluation and improvement activities.
• Collaborates with dietetic technicians.
• Aids in the maintenance of accurate cardfile records in Health Touch.
• Mentors dietetic interns/students, as assigned by Clinical Nutrition Manager.
• Maintains professional development and competency.
• Maintain effective verbal and written communications within the department.
• Participates in other department responsibilities with the rest of the Clinical Nutrition team, as assigned by Clinical Nutrition Manager
