Job Description

Alsum Farms & Produce Inc., a grower, packer, and shipper of potatoes & onions is looking for a part-time Merchandiser for Woodman's Oak Creek location! As the Merchandiser, you will receive, store, and distribute fresh produce from the stockroom, or storage area to fill shelves, racks, tables, or customers' orders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Stock produce or other merchandise
• Unload materials or equipment
• Inspect items for damage or defects
• Rotate product, first in, first out
• Check backroom stock daily and report to store Produce Manager the need to get all product out on the display floor and report happenings to your immediate supervisor
• Discuss goods or services information with customer, merchandising team, and/or sales team
• Attach identification information to products, items, or containers
• Inspect shipments to ensure correct order fulfillment
• Monitor inventories of products or materials
• Set up merchandise displays
• Remove debris or damaged produce items
• Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Forklift experience (or willingness to get certified and operate)

Job Details:

Job Type: Regular Part-Time

Job Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday – 8:30am to 11:30am (approximately 15 hours per week)

Salary: $19.83 per hour

Work Location: Oak Creek, WI Woodman's Food Market

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Basic understanding of or ability to quickly learn company product codes and terminology
• Thorough understanding of merchandising policies and procedures
• Good analytical skills and ability to make sound judgments relative to inventory
• Represent Alsum Farms & Produce to external customers with professionalism
• Self-motivated and able to function as part of a team
• Ability to utilize Human Resource Information System (HRIS) software
• Valid state motor vehicle license with acceptable motor vehicle record and proof of motor vehicle insurance

Physical and Environmental Demands:

• The ability to move product with a pallet jack, or by cart
• Various repetitive movements
• Good manual dexterity to perform required duties
• Exposure to airborne particles or fumes
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times
• Must wear safety glasses and hearing protection in designated areas
