Job Description

Title: Logistics Controller

Location: Houston, TX (Control Room)

Schedule: Rotational Shift: 5-5-4, 12-hour shifts (6AM-6PM)

Type: Direct Hire

Summary

The Logistics Controller is responsible for coordinating and tracking all logistical activities related to oil movement and truck service work. This includes truck ticket verification, tank level monitoring, dispatch scheduling, and barrel recovery validation. The role ensures accurate, timely, and efficient oil transportation and documentation while maintaining strong communication with trucking companies, field personnel, and internal departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track and reconcile truck tickets daily, ensuring accuracy in volumes, dates, times, and delivery locations.
  • Monitor tank levels and coordinate with field teams to ensure timely pickups and prevent overflows or runouts.
  • Dispatch trucks based on priority pickups, tank levels, and available carrier capacity.
  • Verify barrels recovered against field reports and ticket data, resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date logs for each load, including time, date, trucking company, driver, and lease name.
  • Communicate directly with third-party trucking companies to manage scheduling, delays, and on-site coordination.
  • Input logistics data into internal systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools with high accuracy.
  • Collaborate with sales and field operations to meet customer delivery window requirements.
  • Support monthly reconciliations, audits, and end-of-month reporting.
  • Identify logistical inefficiencies and propose cost-effective improvements.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external partners.
  • Proficiency in data entry and familiarity with logistics software, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, rotational shift environment.
  • Knowledge of oil transportation and logistics processes is a plus.
