Job Description
Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Estimator for our Concrete projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates for projects related to concrete construction and wastewater treatment facilities. This role requires a keen understanding of construction processes, materials, and cost estimation techniques.
Key Responsibilities - Prepare detailed cost estimates for concrete and wastewater projects
- Analyze project plans and specifications to identify key quantities and requirements
- Utilize software tools such as Bluebeam and PlanSwift to enhance estimating accuracy
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure estimates align with project goals
- Review and revise estimates based on project changes or new information
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing
- Provide support during the bidding process and assist in the selection of subcontractors
Qualifications - Proven experience as an estimator in concrete, heavy civil and/or wastewater
- Strong knowledge of water treatment processes and relevant regulations
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred
- Proficiency in estimating software, particularly Bluebeam and PlanSwift
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency
