Job Description

Russell Tobin is seeking a CNC Programmer/ Machinist for a an American multinational automotive manufacturing company.

Job Title: CNC Programmer/ Machinist

Location: Grand Blanc (on-site)

Job Type: Contract

Length: 12-Months (with potential for extension)

Hours: M-F 6:00 am - 3:00 pm

Pay Rate: $25 - $30 per hour

Position Summary:

As the CNC Programmer/ Machinist you will be responsible for taking jobs from 3D model or blueprints and produce finished parts. This is for the Racing department - manufacture components for building racing engines, make parts for battery electrification vehicles

Responsibilities:

• Programing, setup tooling, basic inspection and finishing of the parts
• Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, and material specifications
• Program mills, utilizing manual G-Code Programming and CAM systems
• Maintains part specifications by adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
• Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements specified by the manufacturer's instructions.
• Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership and exploring opportunities to add value to the team

Required Skills/Experience:

• High School Diploma
• Minimum of 5 - 10 years machining experience necessary or equivalent
• Makino experience – understand the control, job shop environment, how to load a part how to blow the part off, safety
• Significant CAM software experience preferably with Master cam
• Sufficient 3D surfacing skills
• Tooling speeds and feeds selection responsibility
• Manual Mill and Lathe Experience
• 4 axis CNC Programming and operation
• Utilization of GD&T standards
• Interpersonal skills required to work with others from various disciplines and cultures.
• Strong organizational skills to communicate technical data to colleagues and leadership
• Must be willing and able to work days and afternoon shifts as required to meet demands
• Strong level of analytical thinking

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Experience operating and programming 4/5 axis CNC machines
• Experience with both horizontal and vertical CNC machines
• Familiar with UG and TeamCenter
• CNC lathe programming and operation experience a plus
• Fanuc, Haas, Hurco, Fadal, Makino and Siemens controller experience
• Understanding of the constantly evolving racing environment
